What the...? Teenagers still lacking awareness in Contraception?

How can this be? Sex education has been taught in schools for 8 years and our teenagers are still ignorant of contraception! Bathing, exercising, urinating after sex will prevent pregnancies?!!
1 in 4 youths are engaging in sexual activities but half are not using contraceptives....this is getting bad to worse......Although the government is encouraging more babies but this is not the way....
That is why i always think that teenagers eventually are teenagers....they will always need guidance and help along the way....Their mindset is wrong, they're always thinking that they can be out on their own, they're always thinking that they have freedom and rights to do whatever they want....
That was what i thought when i was a teenager.....
The problem is, as a teenager, whether you like it or not, their experience in life is insufficient for them to "venture" out....still vulnerable to the vultures of the society....Parents know, and will always know best...Parents will know what's best for their kids...
This is contradictary to what the teenagers think...In their teens, friends are more important than family. Check with any teen, they would want to spend time with friends rather than parents? Parents and home comes to mind only when the real problem comes..when no friends want to help them.....how can the friends help them? the friends are teenagers themselves....
Anwyay, this are just my thoughts and i've sidetracked away from the topic......

Megadance = Megaflop.....

After the Grand Prix, we attended the Megadance: A racing party..The biggest clubbing fix of the Grand Prix season!!! Tickets at a whopping $250!!!

The whole convention hall was converted into a dance floor with the DJ console in the middle. We reached the place at around 12 midnight and we can practically count the no. of people inside. Thinking that probably the crowd don't come in so early since the F1 race ended at about 11pm, we left for a quick bite and came back about 1:30am...The crowd was slightly better, but as we waited, there were more people leaving than arriving......we left at 02:00am....

The crowd aside...the music and DJs were good...but probably not enough marketing done for the event....Megaflop...

Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix!!!

Attended the F1 Grand Prix....The roar from the engines was deafening!!!

You gotta understand the race then you will find excitement in the race....My poor wife was there...almost falling asleep as she dun understand abit wee bit about F1 racing....all she sees is cars going past real fast...."what's so interesting about F1?" she says...

Haha...guess she'll never understand...

Anyway, on the overall i enjoyed the outing....Iz the first F1 night Race for god's sake!!

Only thing is the trouble of getting there and back...

Felipe Massa...Is he too fast or is my camera too weak? My guess is both!!!

My Custom Transformer.....PUNCH/COUNTERPUNCH!!

I am currently doing some custom transformers....starting off is the Transformer Double Spy: Punch/Counterpunch. This fella can turn into an Autobot and a Decepticon....The figure which i used is a Transformers universe sunstreaker......Following pictures shows work in progress....I repainted Sunstreaker into Blue.

I AM GOING TO SINGAPORE F1 GRAND PRIX!!!!

After much persuasion and asking about...I AM FINALLY GOING TO THE SINGAPORE F1 GRAND PRIX!!!

My company actually gives out free tickets to the Singapore Grand Prix for friday and saturday races...through balloting....i didn't manage to get hold of tickets...but 2 of my colleagues who got the tickets...did not want to go and they passed the tickets to me!!! OLE!!!! I've got 2 tickets and will be going to the Grand Prix with the wifey and after that MEGADANCE.....Shiok AH!!!!

Heroes returns!!! IN VOLUME 3!!!

Finally, Heroes has returned with Volume 3. Wonderful show with a wonderful cast. Have waited for so long....As of now, i have already downloaded both episode 1 & 2.....If anyone wants a copy, feel free to drop me a comment or message....

What is Melamine?

Melamine is an organic base with the chemical formula C3H6N6, with the IUPAC name 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine. It is only slightly soluble in water.
Melamine is a trimer of cyanamide. Like cyanamide, it is 66% nitrogen (by mass) and provides fire retardant properties to resin formulas by releasing nitrogen when burned or charred. Dicyandiamide (or cyanoguanidine), the dimer of cyanamide, is also used as a fire retardant.
Melamine is a metabolite of cyromazine, a pesticide. It is formed in the body of mammals who have ingested cyromazine. It was also reported that cyromazine is converted to melamine in plants.

Acute toxicity
Melamine is reported to have an oral LD50 of >3000 mg/kg based on rat data. It is also an irritant when inhaled or in contact with the skin or eyes. The reported dermal LD50 is >1000 mg/kg for rabbits. In a 1945 study, large doses of melamine were given orally to rats, rabbits and dogs with "no significant toxic effects" observed.
A study by USSR researchers in the 1980s suggested melamine cyanurate (a salt formed between melamine and cyanuric acid, commonly used as a fire retardant) could be more toxic than either melamine or cyanuric acid alone. For rats and mice, the reported LD50 for melamine cyanurate was 4.1 g/kg (given inside the stomach) and 3.5 g/kg (via inhalation), compared to 6.0 and 4.3 g/kg for melamine and 7.7 and 3.4 g/kg for cyanuric acid, respectively.
A toxicology study conducted after recalls of contaminated pet food concluded that the combination of melamine and cyanuric acid in diet does lead to acute renal failure in cats.[19]

Chronic toxicity
Ingestion of melamine may lead to reproductive damage, or bladder or kidney stones, which can lead to bladder cancer.
A study in 1953 reported that dogs fed 3% melamine for a year had the following changes in their urine: (1) reduced specific gravity, (2) increased output, (3) melamine crystalluria, and (4) protein and occult blood.
Wilson Rumbeiha, an associate professor in Michigan State University’s Diagnostic Center for Population and Animal Health, commenting on results from a survey commissioned by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians and designed and implemented by MSU toxicologists presented at the AAVLD's October 2007 meeting, said: "Unfortunately, these melamine cyanurate crystals don’t dissolve easily. They go away slowly, if at all, so there is the potential for chronic toxicity

White rabbit milk candy off the shelves? Oh NOOO!!!!

The china fever has now hit one of the favourite candy of all times....almost every kid has taken white rabbit milk candy....almost everyone grew up with white rabbit milk candy...now that the melamine is found in white rabbit milk candy in levels that exceed the AVA regulations....many will release a certain "loss"?
For one at least, myself....i grew up with white rabbit....fav fav candy...even up to now when i see a pack, there is this urge to buy a packet to munch on.....Difficult to resist but that juz probably the kiddo in me....

Brought Caden swimming again!! This time i was armed with a camera....

iPhone...Finally mine!!!!

I should have wrote this long time ago but only got time to do it now....the iPhone!!! Fianlly in Singapore and finally mine!!!

Bought 2 units, one for me and one for of course my lovely wife. Since both our numbers are under my name and both have no contracts!!

The hype started several months ago and i have reserved 2 units. But eventually as we found out, there is no need for reservation...Anybody who walk into a Singtel shop will be able to buy the iPhone....they didn't even ask me for the reservation slip or the confirmation letter as the website says they would.

So i presumed that all the reservation thingy etc. is to create hype and high anticipation...to think i was conend into waiting very excitedly...fearing the stock would not last....anyway, i am extremely happy with the iPhone and am curiuosly exploring the gadget currently....NUMBER ONE PHONE FOR THE DECADE!!!

Dormitory for foreign workers? One Little India is bad enough!!!

Recent there are some debate regarding the building of a dormitory for foreign workers in the vicinity of Serangoon Gardens. There are extreme responses from residents in the area. I support the group which object to building a dorm specially for them.

One little india is bad enough. We can't even curb the trouble from little india, why create another area of troubles? Try driving through little india on weekends....nobody gives a damn to the vehicles on the road.

On Xmas eves and new year eves....i used to love walking along orchard road around midnight, soaking in the festive and holiday atmosphere counting down to the holiday. I don't do that any more as the whole street will be infected with these foreign workers...roaming the streets in big groups, they make a hell lot of noise and public nuisance. No one will feel safe walk among them....and when i say big groups, i mean BIG groups...and there is an "s" behind the "group". There are many many many many foreign workers...enough to from a big crowd with you inside...others will not be able to know or notice what is happening inside the crowd even i they try to peek...yes, the numbers are THAT big. This is not little india i'm talking about but orcahrd road on festival eves. There is really no sense of security.

The rate of crimes committed by foreign workers is still low compared to crimes committed by Singaporeans. Yes. But we are not looking at the severity of these crimes. If we only look at the number of police cases, that would not reflect the realistic stats about crimes by foreign workers. The crimes by foreign workers are definitely more severe.

At at yesterday's papers....there is a report saying that the indian foreign workers actually pay to go into public swimming pools not to swim, but to ogle at ladies in swim wear. Some even scrutinising the ladies as if they themselves are some pageant judges.

Since little india is already "contaminated" and we can't do anything about it...let them stay there...why let them spread across Singapore?
I just pity those staying at little india area....

If you think that i am too bias.....think it this way, let's say you are staying in a block at e.g Tekka...and you have a young adult daughter (about 23 years old) who goes clubbing and/or go to the movies at night occassionally....would you feel safe with her coming home by herself knowing that there are foreign workers loitering around the area including your void deck area?

Anyway, this is how i feel about having another area for foreign worker lodging.

All digital photos, and we get all, I mean ALL the photos back...without adding anything extra. Unedited of course..Only those that we chose for the album gets the VIP treatment of editing by Leonard.
The package we got from Leonard includes, Photography, Videography and Make-up for both pre-wedding shoot and Actual day photography.

AIG collapse? Citibank woes?

No way, US federal reserve came in to help with a whopping US$85 billion....Thought i read somewhere that AIG needs 80 billion....by giving them 85, does it mean that they have an excess of 5 billion in funds to give bonuses to their employees? hahaha.....ditto
but personally i don' think that this warrant people to throw out their AIA policies, making losses..
Most of these people who have already done so are probably the retirees? If they lose their insurance money, they have nothing left.......anyway from the way i see it, people of the early era like 50s, 60s do not trust banks very much...they'd rather have cold hard cash.....

Then another issue are the rumours that Citibank is very much related to Lehman. Now that Lehman is gone.....rumours has it that Citibank will follow suit...rumours only? but there's no fire without fuel.....i even received SMSes telling me to withdraw all funds from Citibank ASAP.
Thinking about this, i was wondering if we'd max out the citibank cards and if the rumour is true and Citibank goes...We don't need to pay the bills!! Cool!!!

Just wondering what the hell is happening with the US stumbling like the past few months....wonder if Obama and McCain are still interested in becoming the president with such a pile of financial rubble to clean up.....

Fact will figure itself......we'll just have to wait.......

Megadance Party at F1 race!!

WOW!! Manged to win a couple of tickets to the megadance party at the Singaproe F1 race on 27 September 2008! Didn't expect it....just thought that i'd try to sms into 98.7fm to answer the question thrown...."who is the famous girlfriend of mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton?"
