Rayong trip in Thailand....MAKAN HEAVEN!!!

Went to Rayong, Thailand for a week on business trip....Work was fine...But the food was EXCELLENT!!!

Good, cheap, delicious...almost everything went for 35THB which is equivalent to SGD$2!!!<>

Really ate my fill for the five days....

Some pictures from the food court in a shopping mall which we visited the first thing after arrival....the food there is so-so... no where near to what is awaiting us in the next few days...

One of the lunches we had...Braised pork trotters, braised duck, eggs and seom vegetables + soup...Excellent braised food!!! Best!!!

Roasted/grilled/BBq pork....not the same as those you'd find in Singapore....BAGUS!!

Thai Bah Kwa, so-so...i wouldn't spend on this!

BEST BEST BEST!!!! BBQ salted fish!!! My personal favourite!!! Actually there are a few personal favourites..and this is defintiely one of them...not exactly salted fish...the fish is coated with salt and BBQ..YUM YUM YUM!!

Some mango salad with raw crab, YES!! RAW CRABS!!....this is the aftermath of the crabs after i devoured them....also highly recommended...

The local colleagues brought us to a "restaurant" by the beach. There was no chairs and we had to sit on mats on the beach...the seas breeze was enjoyable and the food was BEST!!

Thai style steamed fish with lemon sauce!!! Personal Favourite!!!! BEST BEST BEST!!!

BBQ Seafood Platter consisting of crabs, king prawns, squid, mussel, cockles and fish meat!

Boiled squid served at one of the lunch....Squid is my all-time favourite and must eat for me...so long as it is squid, no matter what style they cook it with, i'll devour!!!

The night market just opposite my hotel i which i spent most of my dinners at....CHEAP AND GOOD!!!!

Mango and papaya salad with raw crabs! Have been looking at the crabs for the longest time each time i pass by, not knowing how they'd cook it, i ordered one serving for 40THB ( less than SGD$2)...when it came, i was surprised at it being raw....still i finished the dish as it was really really good!!! The seasoning for the salad was enough to overcome whatever smell of the raw crab!! BEST BEST BEST!!!

My favourite Thai style beef noodle stall!!! They serve the best beef noodles i have ever ever eaten!!!

First time i really tried eating anything outta the ordinary...Grasshoppers!!

Turns out that it was delicious!!! A very good companion to go with beer!!! Hot and crispy!! Recommended!!

Also wanted to try the worms but the size they sold here was too big for my comfort...so passed on that..but the grasshoppers...WOW!!! Would definitely try again!!! CHEERS!!!!

Mellben for crab? Thanks but no thanks!!

Just visited Mellben at Ang Mo Kio over the weekend for a crab dinner...haven been there for probably a year.. the whole place was renovated and now there is only Mellben and no more other food stalls in the coffeeshop.

The coffeeshop was renovated into resort themed coffeeshop with unnecessary water fountains...wooden walkway etc. Iz just a coffeeshop for goodness sake!!!

Food was generally okay but alot more expensive...the crab bee hoon was still good except a hell lot of butter than before...creamy butter crab maintained its standard...overall, iz not worth the wait anymore. Would go to other locations for my monthly dose of crab....

After your order, they'll try to push you for more orders saying: "Like that enough meh? only these few dishes where will full?" Seating can be arranged first but ordering of food have to be done at the counter which makes it very incovenient....

At least for me, i would not go back there anymore whether for food or crab...it has become too commercialised...and the food prices are like restaurant rates!!
